Open-source licenses
The tools on this site run on your device, using open-source engines your browser downloads from us. Here is what they are and where their source code is.
FFmpeg (video and audio)
Video compression, conversion and most audio tools use FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, with x264, LAME and zlib. We build it ourselves with only the parts the site uses. As a whole it is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later.
- Notice: what is inside, each part's license, and the exact source versions
- GPL version 2 and LAME's LGPL
- Our build files: build.sh, config.txt, pkg-config
You can also ask us for the complete source code. The notice explains this offer, and our address is on the contact page.
libheif (HEIC images)
Opening HEIC photos in browsers that cannot do it themselves uses libheif, unmodified, under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 3. See its notice.
