# HEIC decoder

`libheif.js` and `libheif.wasm` are [libheif](https://github.com/strukturag/libheif)
compiled to WebAssembly, taken unmodified from the npm package
[`libheif-js`](https://github.com/catdad-experiments/libheif-js) (version
pinned in `package.json`). They are copied here by
`scripts/copy-heif-decoder.mjs` at build time and are not checked in.

**Licence: LGPL-3.0.** The full text is in `LICENSE`, copied from the same
package. libheif bundles libde265 (LGPL-3.0) for HEVC decoding. Nothing here is
modified, nothing is statically linked into other code, and the sources are the
public repositories linked above.

Why it is here at all, and why almost nobody downloads it, is in
