Free voice changer for the parts you choose
Play your recording and hold a button over the sentences to disguise — like holding to record a Reel. Hear the changed voice live, adjust the painted parts on the waveform, then download. Nothing is uploaded, no account, no watermark.
Paint only what needs hiding
A name here, an answer there. Hold while it plays; everything you did not paint stays untouched, sample for sample.
You hear it before you keep it
The disguise plays live while you paint, and you can replay any part before downloading.
Nothing is uploaded
Playback, preview and the final render all happen on your own device. That is why there is no cap and no account.
No clicks at the joins
Every painted part starts and ends with a short crossfade in the saved file, so the edit does not announce itself.
How it works
- Drop your recording, or click the box to choose a file.
- Pick a voice: Deeper, Higher, or Anonymous for the hardest to place.
- Press play, then hold the button — or the spacebar — while the parts you want disguised go past. Let go to stop painting.
- Tap any painted band on the waveform to drag its edges, switch its voice, or remove it.
- Save. The file is re-rendered at full quality, and the name ends with a short tag, like
memo-voice-8f2a1c.mp3.
What the three voices do
Deeper and Higher move the pitch and the tone of the voice together, the way a slowed or sped-up tape changes a speaker without making the words unclear. They are for making a voice sound like someone else while staying natural.
Anonymous is for when the point is not to sound different but to be hard to place. It pushes the pitch and tone further and folds a metallic modulation through the voice — the treatment behind anonymised interview voices. It deliberately sounds processed; that is what buying distance from the original costs.
Honest limits
No voice changer makes a voice impossible to identify, and you should distrust any that claims to. A plain pitch shift can be reversed by anyone who guesses the amount; more destructive treatments resist casual listeners and simple tools, but speaker-recognition research keeps improving. This tool makes a voice hard to recognise — for anything where being identified would be a serious risk, treat it as one layer, not a guarantee.
Also worth knowing: what someone says can identify them as surely as how they sound. Disguising the voice does not disguise names, places or turns of phrase in the words themselves.
What it does not do
It does not separate speakers — it works on the recording as one track, and you choose the stretches to disguise by when they happen, not by who is talking. It does not transcribe, translate, clean up noise or make the file smaller; the noise remover and the audio compressor below do those jobs.
Frequently asked questions
Is my recording uploaded to a server?
No. The whole thing — playback, preview and the final render — happens on your own device. Nothing leaves it.
Does it disguise the whole file?
Only the parts you paint. Hold the button (or the spacebar) while the recording plays, and the stretch that goes past is painted; everything you did not paint is untouched, sample for sample. You can also disguise the whole file by holding from start to end.
Can the original voice be recovered from the file?
Treat the result as hard to recognise, not impossible to undo. A simple pitch change can be reversed by anyone who guesses the amount, which is why the Anonymous voice also shifts the tone of the voice and folds a metallic modulation through it — much harder to unpick. But researchers keep building better voice-recognition tools, so do not stake anything critical on it being unrecognisable forever.
Which voice should I use to stay unrecognisable?
Anonymous. Deeper and Higher change how the voice sounds but keep it natural, which also keeps more of what makes it recognisable. Anonymous deliberately sounds processed — that is the price of being harder to place.
Will there be a click where the disguise starts and stops?
No. Every painted region begins and ends with a short crossfade in the saved file, so the joins are smooth.
Why does the download sound better than the preview?
The preview runs live while the recording plays, so it favours keeping up over polish. The saved file is re-rendered from scratch at full quality.
What file do I get back?
A WAV comes back as a WAV. Everything else comes back as a high-bitrate MP3, because a compressed recording re-saved as WAV would balloon to many times its size.
Does it add a watermark or need an account?
No watermark, no account, no trial, and no upgrade prompt on the download. The site is free and paid for by ads.
